THE STORY
A Legacy Five Decades in the Making

Judi Emanuel — The Reggae Countess — is one of Jamaica's most accomplished and enduring performing artists. The daughter of Count Owen (Owen Emanuel OD), recipient of the Order of Distinction of Jamaica and pioneer of Jamaican Mento and Calypso, she carries music in her blood.
Possessed of a remarkable five-octave vocal range, she has performed approximately 4,000 Cabaret concerts across Jamaica's most prestigious venues — Sandals, Half Moon, Jamaica Pegasus, Hilton Kingston and more — and toured internationally across Japan, North America and the Caribbean as backing vocalist with Judy Mowatt of Bob Marley's legendary I-Threes.
She attended Alpha Academy with Cedella and Sharon Marley, rehearsed with Rita Marley, recorded her EP at the legendary Harry J Recording Studio — where Bob Marley recorded Exodus — and shared the stage with Marcia Griffiths at Jamaica's first all-female extravaganza, Princess Black, in 1985.
In 1995 she placed First Runner-Up at the CBU International Song Contest in Havana, Cuba — the premier Caribbean music competition — and that same year performed alongside Miss World 1994/95 Aishwarya Rai.
